Mr. John Benton – Director

John has approximately 14 years of experience in the defense industry with a majority being as a Soldier and working for the Unites States Government. John served in the United States Army from June of 2001 to December 2010 as a 13Foxtrot Forward Observer. His last duty station was in Fort Bliss El Paso, TX from 2007-2010 which he helped establish the then Future Combat Systems testing Brigade, now known as the Brigade Modernization Command. During this period John was introduced to the ARMY’s acquisitions process for the first time and lead to him taking a position at Ft. Sill Oklahoma in TRADOC Capabilities Manager Fires Cells as a User Representative for the 13 Foxtrot community. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Franklin University before completing his military tenure. From 2010 to 2013 John was afforded the opportunity to attend many of the Defense Acquisition University courses that lead to a solid understanding of Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS) process. Also during this period he was part of writing new requirements documents, operational testing of new military equipment, and advised both the Capabilities Development Integrated Directorate (CDID), and Fires Center of Excellence command group on many occasions. Due to this John was awarded acceptance into the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara, the highest award for a Field Artilleryman. In June of 2013 DRS Technologies hired him as a Business Developer for the Dismounted Targeting portfolio. John has sense taking on several different programs and successfully completed his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. When he isn’t working John rides with the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA) and most importantly spends time with his family doing outdoor activities.
