Topic: Why Quantum Matter Matters
Abstract: Although the universe is a quantum mechanical system, we don’t experience it that way. In this talk we’ll briefly describe some of the basic concepts of quantum mechanics and various technologies that have been used to create quantum systems. We’ll review the state of quantum computing and its application. And, we’ll look beyond computing to other quantum technologies that will be part of our lives and give a couple of examples of things to come like a Quantum Positioning System.
