Greater Dallas Military Foundation Set to Host 52nd Annual Gala
Net proceeds to be donated to military relief organizations
The 2016 Greater Dallas Military Foundation (GDMF) Gala and Air Force Association Symposium will be held on Saturday, April 16 at The Fairmont Dallas. The GDMF is a charitable foundation that provides support and services to military men and women.
The annual black-tie dinner and military gala bring together key leaders in the Dallas-Fort Worth region to honor the men and women of the Armed Forces. Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force, General Mark A. Welsh, will be the keynote speaker. Attendees, including military personnel and spouses, local dignitaries and industry executives will enjoy performances by the United States Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team and the Air National Guard Band of the Southwest.
During dinner, the GDMF will present Congressman Sam Johnson with the first-ever Greater Dallas Military Foundation Patriot Award, an annual honor which seeks to recognize a civilian who has demonstrated consistent and outstanding support for a strong national defense and its essential role in ensuring the security of the United States of America.
The Air Force Association will also host a breakfast and symposium the morning of the Gala. The symposium will feature a panel discussion on the evolving role of Special Operations Forces (SOF) as an instrumental military power and will be moderated by United States Air Force Lieutenant General (Ret.) David Deptula, Dean of the Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies.
Net proceeds from the Gala will be contributed to several service relief organizations, including Army Emergency Relief, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, the Air Force Aide Society and Coast Guard Mutual Assistance. Citizens can support our troops by attending the Gala (tickets available online), sponsoring a table or making a donation. For more information, visit greaterdallasmilitaryfoundation.org.

About the Greater Dallas Military Foundation Gala
The Greater Dallas Military Gala was established in 1965 by representatives of the Air Force Association, Association of the U.S. Army, Navy League, Marine Corps Association and other Reserve and National Guard organizations. Since its inception, the Gala has become a unified military voice for the greater Dallas-Fort Worth region and has distributed more than $7 million in proceeds to various military relief agencies. Dedicated to honoring both active and reserve forces, the Gala offers a unique opportunity to salute those who are serving, thank those who have served and pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
