April 16th: AUSA North Texas Sporting Clay Shooting Classic

The Association of United States Army (AUSA) – North Texas chapter is having its annual Sporting Clay Shooting Classic on April 16, 2015 (Thursday). The event will be held at Elm Fork Shooting range. We want to invite you and your friends to participate in this event.

The Army Marksmanship Team will be participating that morning in a static display of their Olympic shooting equipment and will be discussing sporting clay shooting techniques.

We have the current Miss Texas – Monique Evans participating with us. Each shooter will receive lunch, all ammunition, and gift bags. Silent and live auction items of multiday hunting trips and sporting memorabilia will be available. See our website for details on times and locations. All proceeds from the event go to the Chapter’s 501 C 3 non-profit education program that teaches Leadership to the ROTC cadets in our area.

Brandon Valeriano, Senior Lecturer, School of Social Sciences and Politics, University of Glasgow

Brandon Valeriano is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow in the School of Social and Political Sciences. Dr. Valeriano’s main research interests include investigations of the causes of conflict and peace in the international system, as well as the study race/ethnicity from the international perspective. Ongoing and past research explores interstate rivalry, classification systems of war, the causes and consequences of military spending dynamics, cyber conflict, popular culture and foreign policy, and Latino foreign policy issues. He is the co-author of Cyber War versus Cyber Reality: Cyber Conflict in the International System (Oxford University Press, 2015); and Russia’s Coercive Diplomacy – Energy, Cyber and Maritime Policy as New Sources of Power (Palgrave Press, 2015).

The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required.

Jim Bauer, an NDIA LSC board member, is leading the charge for this energetic group. Your NDIA LSC Chapter President, Mike Dietz, attended their first meeting in Garland last Tuesday, Sept 30, and it was a very interesting and engaging group.
