Abstract:
“Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) continue to negatively impact Defense readiness levels. Following recent critical supply chain shocks, the severity of obsolescence is now one of critical importance across the DoD spectrum. While Additive Manufacturing (AM) holds promise to fix DMSMS issues, long-term solutions will require a broader approach that incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AM with other emerging technologies. Sustainment Technologies’ software platform transforms how commercial and government buyers discover, engage, and interact with the US manufacturing economy. It enables the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) via intelligent mapping of parts to their associated manufacturing processes and the application of unique search algorithms that help DoD rapidly identify new sources of supply. The platform incorporates encryption for technical data package (TDP) file sharing to build a more secure, resilient supply chain.”

Abstract:
The Power of the Ecosystem.
The rate of technology and business-model innovation today makes it nearly impossible for any single organization to do everything itself. Today’s leaders understand business as a modern, connected ecosystem where gains are mutual and the greatest impact comes from moving and working together with a diverse set of voices and open technologies such as Blockchain. Most central to IBM’s blockchain strategy is convening an ecosystem of partners and capabilities that allow us to accelerate the transformation of our clients. Join IBM Jason’s Kelley to learn about this ecosystem approach, and hear examples of how our commitment to blockchain and other open technologies is unlocking innovation for clients and propelling organizations – and entire ecosystems to new opportunities and growth.

Abstract:
NavalX Overview: Why the Status Quo is Not Enough.
Mr. Bradley Goodrich will be offering an overview of NavalX, an Innovation Cell for the US Navy. One of NavalX’s roles is to deliver and facilitate the rapid adoption of proven agility-enhancing methods that are ready for implementation, have high impact and broad applicability, and are likely to scale. Our Naval culture of decentralized autonomy has been described as an innovation landscape marked by isolated and short-lived bursts of success. The approach is to connect to these isolated pockets of excellence to capture and scale the methodologies being employed, increasing awareness of cross-Department of Defense (DoD) and external successes, lessons learned, and subject matter experts. NavalX connects experts and solutions to workforce challenges.
